About the Artist
Carrie Esser is a self taught artist who’s passion for creating started as a child raised in Ohio. The dramatic changes of the seasons have inspired her love of nature which shines through in her work. A desire to explore the mountains brought Carrie to Phoenix four years ago and she has grown an immense love for the beauty of the desert ever since.
While her work has been primarily focused in creative makeup and body painting, Carrie has a diverse skill set and believes that practicing and exploring many mediums is essential to her artistry as a whole.
Carrie’s painting journey has been an explorative process as she seeks to discover her unique voice and style. Her work is often inviting and approachable, reflecting the innate connection we all share with nature. Carrie places importance on incorporating playfulness and imagination in her art, believing that reconnecting with the inner child can be both healing and lead to a happier life. Her pieces also explore moments of surrealism, allowing her to blend the whimsical with inspiration drawn from everyday life in her creative expression.
Earning a Bachelor of Business Administration at Kent State University has helped Carrie to build her own business, Makeup Madhouse, where she offers a variety of creative services and products, commissioned artwork, creative lessons and shares her journey as an artist on her social platforms. She is determined to continue pursuing her passion for art full time and is grateful to be able to share her imagination with the world.
